ABOUT HONOR FLIGHT NORTHWEST OHIO

Honor Flight Northwest Ohio (HFNWO) is a 501(C)3 Non-Profit organization formed in 2007 in order to send the Veterans of Northwest Ohio to Washington DC to see the memorials built and dedicated in their honor. To date we have safely flown 859 veterans on 22 flights to see their memorials and have made many dreams come true.

To date the Honor Flight Network founded by Earl Morse has flown thousands of veterans to the memorials in Washington since 2005. As one of the network's safest hubs we are proud to have been a part of this overwhelming achievement.

Time however is of the essence. On average over 1,200 WW II veterans die every day. With over 6 Million veterans in the United States, our mission is daunting and critical. Many veterans are unable to afford or lack the ability to have a care taker with them to visit their memorial. It is through the generosity of corporate and individual sponsors that Honor Flight NWO is able to help provide these services to our veterans FREE OF CHARGE.

$400.00 is all it takes to sponsor a veteran's flight and accommodations for the 1 day trip. This includes all transportation to Washington DC, bus service to the memorials, as well as all of their meals and beverages.

95% of all donations to our organization go towards getting the veterans to their memorials. Our guardians pay for the privilege of escorting the veterans, and several companies provide equipment for our veterans to use on the trip. Our Executive Committee is unpaid and even this website and the time required to operate and maintain it is donated. It is through this sponsorship that Honor Flight Northwest Ohio keeps the overhead low to direct more funding to the flights.
